I hope your blog does well,if you could give some insight into things going on in Beech Grove it might draw more readers. You say you have lived in Beech Grove all your life, have you ever been involved like this before or are any of your relatives?

Thank you, and I too hope this Blog does well too, although I don't have visions of grandeur where it is concerned!!!

Yes, I have lived in BG all my life. I have never thought to write a blog until recently, and it was done out of a need to show that there are people who TRULY love this town and do not want to see it ripped to shreds. I don't really intend on this becoming a political blog, and will try to add things that are insightful as I learn of them, but I am also hoping to make this an arena where NICE people can also add things! I hope people will feel free to comment, or ask me to find out things, or even complain NICELY about the goings on in BG. Lastly, I do have relatives here in BG but no one involved in anything like this.

Have a great weekend!

I'm thrilled that you've taken on this venue. I had to marry into Beech Grove, and find this a wonderful community. I'm glad you're willing to take the time to post about the good things happening. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Since I am so new to the "Blog" world, I am sure to make a few mistakes. I don't claim to know everything, I just try real hard to!!!

Loving this town and acting like everything is good here are two different things.
Did you ever think that the people on the other site have a true passion for Beech Grove just like you, and they too want good things for Beech Grove.
All of the fighting and back stabbing is really ashame.

Yes, I agree with you, loving this town and acting like everything is good are two different things. I haven't said anything to lead to that so I am positive you are speaking of people on "the other side". I also agree with you that all of the fighting and back stabbing they are doing is a shame, especially since they are adults! As far as the true passion goes, I cannot help but think more than passion for the city, they have a true passion to make people feel bad or insignificant in this city. If you want to inform people of what is going on, you can do it far more intelligently, and far more tactfully, "in my opinion". That is why I started this. I want the people to be able to say what they want, but in a nice way. I want a true leader for our city, and right now, there is a nasty race going on for that position, as far as I can see. I certainly hope that the bitterness in their mouth goes away before decisions are made regarding the citizens in this town! You make some people mad enough and they will take it out on everyone else.

I can tell you this - there are a lot of changes that do need to be made in this town, and most of them DO NOT start at the top. We as citizens of this town need to take some of the rap for the bad. I will be adressing that actually very soon. I still have some tweaking to do in my wording...that whole nice thing, ya know!!!

Thank you for the post!

Like the positive site but one thing you are forgetting in your above quote is that it is not Frank or Joe or Ingle that has the bitterness or are creating a nasty race. It is the people supporting them and we do not know if the candidates agree with their comments or not. Lets not pin this negative stuff on the candidates until the actual campaigning begins.

Unfortunately, politics can get ugly, and that is what is going on. To bad the city is split like it is, I have my opinion, but will save it for the other blog. Beech Grove is at a turning point, and some hard decisions must be made, for the well being of the city. If not handled right, our city could become a has been, and part of Indianapolis, which none of us want. Look hard at the candidates, and decide who will be best for the future of the Grove, and, push your friends and neighbors to get out and vote! Groovy, I too am a lifer here in the Grove, and remember the phrase "Groovy Grover", don't know your age, don't care, but my graduation was the early 70's. Yours?

Regarding the last two posts...

I am not so naive to think that Frank Joe and Ingle may or may not read and/or post to the other side. I am quite sure that they at least read it, as it has now became infamous in BG. However, I am human, and human nature is to try and hurt those who hurt you. You are right though, maybe it is only the people who support them. What does that say though, if the people who are the closest to them are acting this way. Since I have been paying attention to polictics, all races are nasty, it doesn't matter what race it is, President, mayor, council person - whatever. That is my opinion only. You can take it for what it is worth to you, maybe nothing! From what I have read, it just seems to me everyone has commented! So, I am not trying to pin any of the negative on the candidates, far from it. All of the three are residents of the city are they not? I think I was using that all toward us as a community, no specific person(s).
And again, they may have good intentions, but not tactful in their wording, how's that? I also hope that Joe Frank and Ingle all feel they can post here. I can assure I will not let this blog turn into a free for all and will moderate to keep this site respectful to all three.

To ANON 8:23pm

I am an early 80's grad - very early!!! I agree with you, this city is at a turning point. I hope you will feel free to voice your opinions here, just please do so tactfully! I am all about people's opinions and what they feel would be helpful to this city etc. So please, send it here, as well as the other sight. I won't say that I will always agree, but hope to never make anyone feel unwelcome as long as they aren't rude. I do love this town, believe it or not, I cried when I found out the Meat Market was being sold! Can you tell I hate change!! I do like the new locale. It is just not the same. Guess that shows we all have to change and grow though, agreed?

Really nice blog site! Although I am not a lifer, I have been in Beech Grove most of my life. I have raised my kids here, and this is where they call home. I love the benefits, like yesterday's fire works and the Fall Festival, where we, as a community, can meet, talk, socialize, without the stress and strain of the political nighmares occurring around us.

Groovy Grover, keep it up!

Happy Birthday America!!
